Please help me ID this vase. I've google searched quite a bit. It looks almost like a Holmegaard Otto Brauer vase but as you will see it's not the same shape. It has the same cobalt blue color and the heavy lip at the top but I cannot find anything like it. It's about 7 inches tall and about 4" across the diameter at the top. The glass is thick and substantial. Thank you all in advance! :)

Hi and welcome. :)
Is there any wear underneath the rim?
This looks less like a vase and more like a large and deep inkwell to me. The sort you put into a hole in a desk. Old fashioned, from when people used fountain pens which had to be filled with ink.
It is much bigger than any I have ever seen. This deep cobalt blue was often used in much older glass. "Bristol blue".
I'm afraid I do not think it is Otto Brauer.
Others here may well know more than I do - please, have a little patience and wait and see what they say.

Well thank you! There is no wear and tear under the rim. Hmm? I would have never thought "inkwell" so that's an interesting new lead. Even if it's not an Otto Brauer, perhaps other replies here will help me assess its value....if it has any!
best regards

;) I'm old, so I had an inkwell in my desk when I was at school.
We're interested in identifying and discussing glass, we do not do valuations because they are far too contentious. We're all just amateurs who love glass and not everybody comes along every day.
Something is worth what somebody else is willing to pay, in that place, at that time.
But if you get an identification, it's easy enough for you to check past auctions to find out for yourself. :)

Thank you again! I get your point on valuations. Makes perfect sense. I appreciate your guidance as I'm new to this group. I really think this blue inkwell/vase is beautiful so I guess I love glass as well.

Welcome to the rabbit-hole. ;D 8) ;D
One thing that is very important when posting images is to include one of the base. The way a piece of glass is finished off can be a real help in identification - there are lots of different ways of doing it.
Thank-you for posting them directly to the board - some folk have trouble with it. It is very much desired because it leaves us with a properly illustrated thread for future reference.

Ok here are some shots of the base. They might not be as clear as possible due to the file size requirements. Let's see if they help.

Those are excellent photos! Thank-you
I can see it has been mould blown, but then probably put on a punty rod to hand finish and shape the rim. The scar where the rod was broken off has been heat finished to make it smoothish - get rid of sharp bits.
We really like looking at bottoms here. ;)

LOLOL I love the knowledge and detail! I had zero idea these photos would tell a story. Fantastic. I learn something new everyday!
Thank you! Have a great day!

Just to confirm this is not a Brauer design (sorry no idea where it is from), the complete and somewhat short list of his designs can be seen here:
