Title: Yellow crackle glass vase - Kralik?
Post by: neil53 on January 26, 2023, 03:31:38 PM
The vase is balustroid in shape and measures 4.3 cm (1.7 inches) in diameter at the top rim.   The vase is golden yellow in colour, has a moulded crackle effect to the glass, and ends in a base that is 9.5 cm (3.8 inches) in diameter at its widest point.  The vase is 21 cm (8.4 inches) in height.  There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration.

The vase weighs in at 360 g. (~ 12 1/2 oz.).

Kind regards
Neil

You could try searching for veined rather than crackle glass, although the Kralik ones are described as crackle, lots of Bohemian examples online.

I think if it was moulded crackle there wouldn't be any on the base. I suspect it's been cracked and then blown into a mould, which would smooth out the edges. Moulded crackle would be much more regular

Hi guys, thanks for your input.  I'll do a bit more research and post if I can find out anything about it.  It came with some Loetz glass so I thought it might be recognised by someone as Bohemian.  Kind regards, Neil
