Post by: Koball on March 02, 2023, 05:07:15 AM
Greetings, I inherited this from my Father, maybe from the 1920's. I don't even know what to call it to start to search for identification. Can someone help please? thank you, Kal Koball

This is called an "epergne", from the French or also a centrepiece/centerpiece. I can't help with a maker, it might be difficult to identify, it could be European, English or American. I assume the base is silver plate and so it might carry a maker's mark which could indicate a country of origin.

Looks Bohemian to me and late 1880s. Perhaps Harrach. They were keen on overshot glass. Any marks on the metalwork won't help, as it was often applied in the country of sale not by the glassmaker
