Post by: LEGSY on April 15, 2023, 01:39:53 PM
Picked up a new vase recently at the local car boot and
have been trying to find out the manufacturer of it i am
caught between Nazeing or Stevens & Williams but nothing
concrete it measures 91/4" x 71/2" Thanks for taking a look.

if Biot, it should be stamped on the underside.

I have a similar crackle glass vase which I believe is most likely S&W but with no definite proof. Verrerie de Biot pieces are usually marked but not always, they also have a distinctive rough ring pontil mark as they use a pipe for a pontil rod instead of the usual solid one.

I don't know if it's an S&W piece or perhaps and S&W piece for Nazeing and id'ing something based on a colour is not a good way to do it ... but ... the blue reminds me of the lovely S&W lavender blue that I own especially in the photo where it's tilted and so double wall view.

This is a Nazeing blue lattice bowl.  The way the colour is on your piece doesn't remind me of Nazeing bubbles.
