Title: Royal Brierley Studio tankard.
Post by: keith on April 19, 2023, 09:07:19 PM
Just 5.5 inches tall, the Rio range started in 1985 but this is not in the catalogue, slight damage in transit might have been caused by the wrapping, a plastic popcorn bucket, 2 pieces of newspaper and a carrier bag, not really suitable material  ::) ;D

Is it the top of the handle that is damaged? Rendering it pretty much unusable?
What a complete bummer that it is such an unusual uncatalogued beast that ended up suffering because of dreadful packaging.
It would be a lovely thing to use for a hot toddy.
At least you do possess an example.  :)

Just under the top of the handle, shame but quite rare I think, must ask Gwyneth Ashcroft, it was one of her designs.

I didn't make myself very clear - but you understood me and clarified. Yes, the underside of the top part.
Far too many handles "go" in that sort of place.  :(
