Title: Bryant Fedden glass engraver - ice bucket
Post by: Anne E.B. on May 13, 2023, 05:20:11 PM
This was quite an unexpected find today, a beautiful large commemorative ice bucket, presumably for champagne.  It has the most wonderful lettering around it, which I think reads " Peter / Hilly / 28 August / 1974".  Beautifully signed on the base "Bryant Fedden Winchcombe Glos. 1974"

Apparently Bryant Fedden (1930-2004) was a self-taught letter cutter, glass engraver and sculptor and had a workshop in Toddington Gloucestershire, before moving to a new workshop in Winchcombe Gloucestershire.  This Wikipedia link has a wonderful picture of him at work engraving, along with lots of information about him and his work. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryant_Fedden

I will have to add images of the ice bucket later unfortunately, when I've managed to reduce the size..........  :-X ::)
