Title: Onion vase with white stripe
Post by: chilternhills on July 09, 2023, 07:49:34 AM
Can anyone identify the maker of this onion vase, please? I found another online, but all they said was 'vintage', which isn't much help. It stands about 17 cm high. The pontil mark on the base has been ground out concave.

Thanks in advance.

Anton

I could be way off here and actually this doesn't really help but it reminded me of this kind of shape/type vase, listed as having a label that reads SIA.  SIA is some kind of homeware collections type of thing but I've no idea where the glass was made:

I'd been watching the contemporary market when SIA first started appearing on labels. Sia covers a whole load of different decorative objects - ceramics, rather effective enormous fake flowers, cushions - soft furnishings as well as hard. Before that, similar sorts of glass were often labelled LSA, and before that, Krosno.

I did have a tiny wonder if this onion might be Mike Hunter, but only for a split second, before I enlarged the images. I really do not think it's Mike's work.
