Picked up a vase at the local boot sale and thought it were a piece of pottery at first but noticed it had a
ground pontil scar which had a hand written number in pencil in it. The vase is thickly made and when held to
light it seems to show a reddish glow from inside the glass i wonder if it might be a white on a redder colored
base or something like that. I have seen blanks used at Stourbridge glass houses which have not met the grade
and found there way out to the community in unfinished conditions before and thought this might be something
like this or maybe just a plain piece of glass? Seems strange to go to the trouble of a thick wall and that glow too.
It measures 8/1/4" height.

It's not Burmese. That is a heat reactive, uranium based glass that is yellow when unheated and that turns pink with reheating.

Wondering about this vase does it look similar to Frederick Carder Steuben Ivory glass vases ???
