This is a large, vibrant, polychrome studio glass bowl. The bowl is in excellent condition. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use. The bowl is cup-shaped and measures 22.5 cm (9 inches) in diameter across its rim. The bowl is blown in polychrome glass manipulated with swirls and other patterns. The bowl is 18 cm (7.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, other significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. It weighs in at 3.25 kg. (~ 7 lb. 3 oz.).

The signature looks a bit like Martin Evans but not sure about the glass...

It’s Anthony Stern.

Thank you! That is so embarrassing as I've had a number of his pieces pass through my hands and didn't recognise it. Another sign of encroaching senility I am afraid. Thank you so much. Neil

Not sure it bodes well for me either! :D

It looks nothing like Anthony Stern's usual work, but I agree, it is his signature.
Although on reflection, I suppose the "spring" like white line bits are rather like the sections of one of his more commonly found patterns, but neatly arranged around the vessel with a tight set of concentric lines around the outside.
It also looks as if it contains some silver salts. 8)
