Wonder if anyone has seen an item like this, a non-lead salt, with a mark of S2184 in the centre.
I suspect not English as I've not seen one marked like this before.
The "S" is imprinted differently to the number - maybe a clue?

I keep seeing 82184...

Is the “S” and the “2184” on the same side of the base?
Looks like it’s missing a ram lid, one shown on last page, don’t think it’s identified though: https://pressglas-korrespondenz.de/aktuelles/pdf/fehr-opalin-glas-1.pdf

Well done, it's Streit 2184
You can see it in the catalogue here with a lid. The number is obscured by a hole punch but you can see 2184 in the table further down.

:) The foot looks more like the 2509 though?

Yes I'd agree. Could be an error in the catalogue. I have a Manchester catalogue to hand where the company couldn't even get their own registration numbers correct.
-
Do you know what year that is please?
Thanks

The catalogue is 1913.
The press glass article I think says the ram lid is marked 2509, so maybe it was the mark in the base that was wrong.
I used Google translate on the article and it translated “Streit” as “dispute” so didn’t recognise it as a company name, learnt a lesson there.
