Title: Early Ruby Murano Compote ?
Post by: Harold123 on January 25, 2024, 11:05:36 PM
Hi I have long wondered if this piece might be an early Murano Compote.
10 inch Diameter Bowl with 6 inch Diameter Foot x 9 inches Tall.
The stem is repaired with Lead which i havent seen before.
If anyone here has an idea as to age and likely manufacturer?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Virtually the same compote with different color, slightly different dimensions and the rings twisted at the Corning Museum of Glass [CMOG]. C. Dorflinger & sons c. 1910 1921 [business ceased 1921]. Accession number 71.4.121. Go to CMOG site> explore the collection>put the accession number in the search bar, have a look.
Italian glass in the "antique" style pretty hard to date, given they seem to have never quit making it. I would guess yours probably pre-WWII at least, just a guess. Yours very much Italian.
