I'm still learning, so please be kind to my purchases.
The first one is rather on the small side 2-inches across and 1.5-inches tall. I believe it's Italian, but not sure.

I really like this eagle, but not even sure if this should be classified as a paperweight. It's about 8-inches tall!! Would love to know a little bit more about it if anyone can recognize it.

Thanks for your input, as always.

Hi Nancy,
I'd agree your first weight is Italian, or rather Murano, probably made by the late lammented 3Fiori or possibly ALT. (Although some weights marked ALT were actually made by 3Fiori, just to confuse you!)
As for your eagle, I just LOVE him! :D He's magnificent! What a wonderful piece of glass! I am sure I've seen something like him before, and have no doubt someone will come along in a minute and tell you who made him. :D
-
Yes, the multi-colored millefiori paperweight is Murano, from Venice's glassmaking island. The canes are 3Fiori style, so chances are that no-longer-open glass firm made it; made anywhere between the 1970s and when it recently closed. The bird statue is impressive, but I'm unfamiliar with items like it.
-
Okay, thanks Leni and WO. I'm getting better at identifying Murano!! That's good news.
So, what's the eagle called? Paperweight? or Studio art glass figural?
-
I'm thinking sculpture or statue. Does it look as if there might have been a plaque of some sort attached to it at one point, indicating it was an award?
-
No WO, there is nothing on the bird that would indicate it as an award, I had the little black box that it stands on presently, but really don't know anything about it except that it's really nice in person.
-
I think the eagle is Ronneby, but would need someone like Ivo or Max to confirm :D
-
fantastic item, i love him. Looks scandanavian, can't think of possible manufacturer!!! name escapes me!!!
-
I think he is Ronneby going by the grey feathers that are exactly the same as the little owl I had ID'd here as Ronneby.
