Title: Lady on a Tree Stump

This figure can be found online attributed to Sowerby but it doesn't match the catalogue images. It is 21cm. tall and it came with the bowl which can be found with figurines by Schweig & Muller, I think a more likely attribution. I've shown it with two other figures, the middle one is shown in the Sowerby catalogues, I think the one on the right is probably Czech, maker unknown, although again possibly Schweig & Muller.

I have absolutely no idea about pressed glass but I did have a turquoise uranium glass Schweig & Muller lady with the most beautifully modelled and beautiful face.  That face looks like a Schweig & Muller lady to me :)

I mean, I've no idea if yours is Schweig & Muller though but if I'd seen it that's where I'd look first.

The problem is there is very little information about Schweig & Muller, no catalogues as far as I know, so it's difficult to give a definite attribution.

The figure shown in Flying Free’s post is illustrated in H. Markhbeinn catalogues so is likely Czech in origin, though as far as I’m aware the maker isn’t known (Rosice has been suggested as the base resembles the ballerina design which was made by both Rosice and Jobling). I’m not aware of any evidence linking this design to Schweig Müller.

I’ve seen that info on Wayne’s site before, though the Cohen registered figure which is typically attributed to Schweig Müller does not look that similar to me. The base is a different style completely without the integral frog and the modelling on the body is hardly the same.

I'm a bit confused -


Do you mean the one in PGK doesn't look similar to my one?  I agree it looks very different. And see what you mean about integral flower frog base as well.
