Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help me with an ID on this unusual orange/amber art glass jug. It has a rough outer surface texture although the inside, trailing and looped handle are all smooth. Have searched online but not really come across anything similar. I can find no markings and it's not easy to judge wear because of the rough surface. The pontil mark is ground and it stands just over 20cm tall or 8 inches in old money. Looks like it might be a copy of an older style of vessel.
Any help would be appreciated

That dimpled shape says Art Nouveau and Bohemian to me, the stretched out layer of mica on the surface is reminiscent of Loetz Cephalonia but other makers used it too, Kralik for one.

Hi John
Have just done a quick search for loetz cephalonia and you maybe right. One vase that came up looked to have very similar suface texture, colour and pontil finish. Will have to search some more and take a look at Kralik glass as well.
Thanks for the help,
Keith
