Title: Is this dish Royal Brierley?
Post by: Sarah on July 30, 2024, 03:58:30 AM
Hi guys - I found this dish/ bowl in my local charity shop. At first I thought it was dead cert Royal Brierley because of the pattern, the colours used and the metallic finish, but now I have a few doubts. It seems to be hand blown and has a smooth polished pontil so it's not badly made, but it has no maker's mark and the iridescent coating doesn't completely cover the pontil. And also I have never seen RB make a dish in this strange wobbly, asymmetrical shape. Could it just be a looky-like?

Dish Diameter: 23 cm
Height : 12cm

Any help in identifying the maker would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Welcome to the message board. Your bowl looks like it was made by Heron Glass in Cumbria.

Hi everyone - thanks so much for replying so promptly with an ID. I'm thrilled to have a piece from Heron glass in Cumbria  - which is pretty local to where I live.
