Title: Boda Åfors 1960s candy container - Bertil Vallien, for show.
Post by: Anne E.B. on July 30, 2024, 02:33:55 PM
Bought today at a local charity shop - fortunately with its original label still attached otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue.
I can't find it in any online catalogue, but according to the web it seems to have been designed in the 1960s by Bertil Vallien for Boda Åfors Bruk, and referred to as a candy container, although Im not too sure how that would work :)

:) Perhaps it is upside down and should have a stand of some sort?

I have seen these described as part of the "blue series", I think they were all meant to have a function in a kitchen. Only ever managed to find a couple of pieces, recently had a cover like yours and fifteen years ago this one:

More decorative than useful IMHO :)
It was the lovely blue colour that caught my eye, but I'm not too sure about the actual shape, and as to actually keeping sweets/candy in it...
