Title: 365nm and 395nm UV Light

I've just got a 365nm. UV torch as I thought it might be interesting to test it against a 395nm. one. The first picture is a beer glass under 395nm. which just shows a pale green manganese glow through the base, the second one is the same glass under 365nm. and the whole glass lights up a quite bright green. The third and fourth pictures are a uranium glass piece shown under 395nm. and 365nm. and as you can see there is little if no difference.

Now you can why Etsy has shops selling colourless "uranium" glass...

Yes Christine, and there's now a trend of selling "manganese glass" as if it were special. I was selling a non-uranium green dish on Ebay and someone messaged me to say I should check it under UV to see if it contained manganese which would make it more valuable.
