not the sort of thing I'd collect usually, and surprised me that the spiral/twist was in fact on the inside (the outside is smooth) - I'd imagine a piece made entirely by machine, and for some irrational reason I'm thinking this is a States made tumbler. It's the mark that's as intriguing as anything else - a raised embossed sort of mark - hope my picture gives some idea of what it looks like - there's a figure 14 above the mark, and a figure 8 below it. The top part is a sort of dome with tiny circles all of which sit on what looks like a spring arrangement and below what might be a pair of boots! Height is c. 4 inches (c. 10 cms.). There's a substantial wear ring on the underside, so could have enough age to take it back to somewhere between 1940 - 1960 possibly. All thoughts welcome and thanks for looking.

Could be a logo, maybe for an event. For some reason I now have football world cup going around in my head, probably the mention of boots plus the shape on top looking a bit like a world with footballs revolving around. Think I need to get more rest!

very well done NevB - spot on - so it's Capstan Glass Company then, who were taken over by Anchor Hocking in 1938 - and probably from somewhere in the '20s to 30's. Well, at least my stab in the dark in suggesting the States was in the right direction - unusual for me to get it right. Unlikely I shall keep this one - probably go back to the charity shop soon. Thanks again for your help.
