Title: Identification of this lamp? - ID (probably) = Perthshire
Post by: zidori on November 11, 2024, 09:38:15 AM
I bought this table lamp base at an Antique Fair recently simply because I loved it and it fits the colour scheme of my sitting room. On getting home, closer inspection revealed a scratched "P" on the base of the lamp. I wondered if this has links to Perthshire Glass, maybe Chic Young, or am I way off beam?
Ant information would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Ronnie

Hiya Ronnie,  :)
My guts thought Perthshire just from the first glance at the thumbnails and before I read a word.

The shape is not an earlier one, the swirls are bold and tight, the colours bright and beautifully contrasted and there is that wee bit of millirfiori at the top.
But, I'm no ex-spurt, it could be Chic Young.

Thanks for your reply Sue. It now has pride of place in my sitting room and is sporting a navy cylinder shade - looking "braw."
Regards
Ronnie

The P looks properly neat and right, so most likely Perthshire. It's just lovely enough to have been Chic's work. 8)
