Title: ELP :) engraved biscuit barrel with diamond registration mark please help ?

picked up a new piece of glass yesterday well it was really a big box full of glass :) this piece is lovely and seems to have been worthy to
of been diamond registration marked with a diamond tip or similar i  have not been able to find out what date it is and so no idea of the maker.
The barrel is very finely blown with garden elements and wildlife can anyone help with the maker :( the top has lovely leaf patterns i have had these on
a wine glass in the past which was circa 1880 so i am jumping to think it maybe that sort of date last quarter of 19th century? Maybe anyway thanks for looking

That is nice. The main decoration is acid etched, not engraved. The outlines are acid etched and the frosting is probably by white acid, developed c1867 by John Northwood. The frosting could be by abrasion, that would date before 1867. You can see the difference here: https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,70755.msg407674.html#msg407674

The section on acid etching in Hajdamach is worth looking at. The jug plate 178 page 192 by Guest Brothers from the Thomas Webb pattern books has very similar looking bell flowers. That is dated early 1870s.

Thanks Ekimp the guest brothers etched jug for Webbs certainly is very similar in my eyes also
the bell flowers and foliage also the diamond registration mark is bugging me is it a
" H " For a date of 1869 it is quite confusing for my brain anyway lol the numbers are not
the clearest i would be amazed if this barrel is 150 years of age and this good condition.
