Title: May have missed Caithness report; also Selkirk
Post by: wrightoutlook on September 22, 2006, 12:23:12 PM: Just curious. I may have missed someone's post mixed in with any number of threads, but what is the status of Caithness, especially regarding Caithness and Whitefriars paperweights.

And, can someone tell me exactly where Selkirk Glass was located? Is that company completely shut down now?

Interesting snippet: Peter Holmes, while at Selkirk, bought Paul Ysart's equipment. Now, Peter Holmes has bought some of the equipment from Selkirk.

Post by: ALLAN on September 23, 2006, 09:36:32 AM: I am afraid there is no real further news on our future.The administrators are still in the process of negotiating a sale of Caithness (which incorporates the Whitefriars brand) to a single remaining interested party.This is hoped to be completed next week sometime,the local newspaper claims the hold up has been down to the local council not having officially given the go-ahead for the proposed redevelopement of the factory site which would include a new factory unit for us,as well as several more tourist orientated units.Time as ever will tell,we can only wait and see what happens.
