Title: Large goblet

Hi, can anyone help with an ID on this large lead glass goblet. Has a ribbed stem and foot. The foot rim has a blue glass top edge. Broken pontil beneath. It has a large bell shaped bowl with vertical optic ribbing and a blue swirl pattern around the top.
It's approximately 24.5 cm just over 9 1/2". There's plenty of wear present so it has at least some age.
So far I've only found one reference which attributes a very similar glass to Powell and sons.
Any help appreciated

Gray-Stan would be worth exploring.

I agree - I think it's definitely Graystan.
I'll have a look at the books tomorrow night to see if I can find it.

Hi, I did wonder about Graystan but have no access to the catalogue. It doesn't really seem like a Whitefriars sort of thing most of their's were more refined and often thinner.

Nice glass Mike. On page 34 of the the glass association journal volume 10. 2014 is a tapered vase or goblet which has blue swags in the main body and a foot that has a blue rim.
It also has the the same raised decoration on the foot as yours.
Not a 100% identification but i would say your glass is Gray-stan.

Tim thanks for the reference  :) I couldn't find the right journal.
All the elements of this goblet are Graystan.  The decor, the colours, the stem, the style of goblet, the foot, the design and the pontil mark.  There isn't an exact match in CH British Glass 20th century either but it definitely is Graystan. See page 93 of Charles Hajdamach British Glass 20th Century.
I have two pieces different colours to yours in this trailed/pulled range also both unmarked.  Both are Graystan.

Hi, I think your all right about the Graystan ID. Just got a copy of the journal. Mine could be a variation of the goblet vase series pages 54-55 perhaps.
