Title: Dial Art glass vase, new shape !
Post by: keith on March 30, 2025, 11:11:00 PM
Picked this up today, I didn't know that they had made different shapes in that range, finding information about Dial Art glass is difficult, I tried Plowden and Thompson pre covid, still waiting ! this is8 inches tall, pistachio colour scheme.

 :)
It's a shape that was kind of reiterated at Border Art Glass, by Peter Holmes. A bucket on a very nicely shaped integral foot.
But it wasn't as tall or slim.
Now you just need this shape in the other colours.  :P ::)
A lovely find for you.  ;D

Thanks M, considering how recent these were made there seems to be very little information about.

yes I had a quick look and couldn't find much.  Is it worth trying to contact Plowden & Thompson was it? I'm sure I read on GMB that they were involved in it. Ok, just had another look and they were but I recall you hadn't had any joy from trying to contact them.  Shame.

Small amount of info for any future viewers here:

??? I'm a little bothered by a bit of info in that article. I have a set of Tudor wineglasses with a thistle pattern on them and the "Made in  TUDOR  England" etched mark on the bases, but they are older than 1972, the date the article says the Tudor name was first used.
My grandfather had these glasses during the mid-'60s. I had the job of wine-waiter when I was a kid.
