Title: Pint Glass - Crown Marked Half Pint
Post by: BRIANM44 on May 03, 2025, 09:39:37 AM
Hi, I have a GR 278 crown marked straight pint glass that is marked Half Pint instead of Pint. Is this common or a rare error from W&M?

Thanks

Hello, no I don't think it's unusual, here's a link to Gully's Glasses for some information, No.278 is for Liverpool. Check the design of the crown to identify if it's George V or VI

OK thanks. I had seen that page. Seems strange that something meant to verify that a glass was the correct measure should be marked with the wrong measure. I guess that they are marking thousands of items so the odd error is to be expected

I didn't read your post properly, half pint instead of pint, just a human error, as you say there are probably more like it.
