Title: Legras & Cie. St Denis, Paris ..... Very large vase, for show.
Post by: ian the sculptor on June 27, 2025, 07:11:47 AM
I thought glass enthusiasts might appreciate seeing this vase which, as you can see from the wine bottle, is a bit of a statement piece. It measures 40 cms tall. Fully signed with logo and St Denis, Paris.
It had a retailer's name in gold partially covering that but it was already fading and was easily wiped off to reveal the full St Denis acid etched mark.
Fortunately it survived the journey through the post.
The problem with large pieces like this is that they are not easy to display with other glass; they really have to sit on their own.

:) You'll have to find some niche corner for it to be on its own in. It is big enough to sit on the floor, in a safe position. I have put a large vase in the corner of the turn of the stairs.

I don't think anywhere is safe on the floor in my place, Sue. Or stairs for that matter. For some reason I'm not known for being careful ... can't think why 🤔 🤥. At the minute it sits on an Arts & Crafts writing desk. It seems comfortable there. 😊
