Hello again, we've got these two cased vases (links below).
1. The orange one is cased in clear (not white inside) and is 12in/31cm tall and quite heavy at 1188g.
2. The yellow one is thinner with a white inner and is 10in/25.5cm tall and is much lighter at 328g.
What I'd like to know is ... hubby and me think these are both probably Italian but I've seen similar ones advertised as Holmegaard (of course!!!!). Any opinions? TIA :-)

Funky vases Pip :P #2 vase I've had both in orange and yellow. Like you, I see these described as Holmegaard and getting good money as a result (grrrr!), but I don't believe they are. No hard evidence I'm afraid, but having handled them, and a Holmegaard gulvase, IMHO no contest. My bet, for what it's worth, is Italian or even Chinese, but I'm usually wrong :? Sorry, no idea about #1, but a guess - Italian (has a look not unlike my Italian pieces and same colour).

Thank you Anne - it's what we suspected - probably Italian. The yellow one for sure I knew wasn't Holmegaard - like you say it's easy to tell the difference when you compare it to a real Holmegaard cased vase - what threw me was a very well respected glassie selling one for good money online attributed as Holmegaard. I haven't got my head around the fact that occasionally they're wrong and I'm right (doesn't happen often!).

I'd swing for most likely Italian, with an outside chance of Chinese.

Cheers ears :-)
