Title: Some glass birds for ID
Post by: Gill on September 27, 2006, 10:03:48 AM
Hello, these are really for the glas bird collector who posted recently, wondered what you made of these, there is a little wear to base, the smaller one has more air bubbles than the larger one, any ideas?

I have one very similar, almost a cross between the two.  It has bubbles, looks more like the one on the right of the first picture, but without the wings. A cut and polished base and the remains of a label which states made in Taiwan.  I'll post a picture tomorrow once daylight returns.

Here are the pictures I promised.  As I said before the bird is not identical to yours but at least you can compare them now.  The label is very worn but I can just make out the large letter B (or is it a stylised JB)? Below that you might just be able to see the word Taiwan.  The beak of the bird has been formed by 'pinching' the glass and the eyes have been formed by pressing something into the glass.
