Title: Rosenthal slumped/printed glass
Post by: David E on October 01, 2006, 07:14:11 PM
Found this on eBay:

Anybody got any ideas on Rosenthal's production of slumped/transfer-printed glassware?

If I remember correctly, Rosenthal even did a series of glass paperweights with transfer "paintings" within a triangular shape. I think they were called Andy Warhol Empire or something like that and the series had at least three geographical locales: Paris, Berlin, and China.

This is probably the current series, since 2002, http://www.int.rosenthal.de/60R9-4 but missing the frame. As each is limited to 50 pieces it can only be silk-screen printing.

Something strange, the one on eBay is 12"square = 30x30cm, live ones are 50cm x 50cm. 20 inches square.

If anyone has the time it might be worth checking with Rosenthal if the eBay one is genuine or not.

Even weider look at the bidder - is this a new way of progressing politics?

Yes, I noticed the user ID, and thought it was a very up-to-the-minute ID :?

Thanks for the info Frank - I'll update the makers list.
