Title: aqua opalescent set... barbini?
Post by: bidda on October 17, 2006, 07:45:45 PM
hi  i bought this lighter (height 6"/15cm)a couple of months ago and wasn't sure about it... but then i found the ashtray/bowl (diameter 7.5"/19cm)and they seem to match perfectly. now i'm thinking that it's a barbini opal cased set. does anyone else have any thoughts on this set?

as always, all comments and any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks,

bidda

Im thinking more likely Toso from the shape of the bowl.
Barbini pieces are thicker, usually with a folded over rim.

Javier,

Toso... yes, of course. I think that's it!

I knew I recogized them and the shape of the lighter bothered me for a Barbini but I've seen Toso lighters in this exact shape.  I've just not seen as many Toso pieces and those I have seen are rarely a solid color so it didn't even cross my mind.

Thanks again. Your rock!
