Gorgeous!  Looks like 1930s Italian. But didn't Steuben do something similar?

Never thought of that...it doesn't really strike me as Steuben..especially the color..

I thought it looked rather like the Jozefina pieces that were being discussed here

Hey Lynne,

I'll have to disagree with you on this one...this vase has a definite "Italian" look to it....the pieces you're referring to are Polish and VERY different in design..

It is the skinniness of the handles and the rings that reminded me of the Polish glass - but it is just a feeling and I am sure you are right.

Lynne - I thought the same thing when I saw it

I am fairly certain that I saw the same or very similar item on a Polish Glass website.  The problem is which one

Because evidently Lynne and I aren't as smart and all knowing as you, Blair

I bow to your superior knowledge and promise to never question your attributions again

Sorry to disappoint you, Blair.  But I have never had a chance to get a better picture of the mark on the bottom or send the images to the CMOG.

I wouldn't add it to my store because a)I am keeping it and b)I am closing my store anyway to do other things.

We seem to be hijacking your thread and I think we are destined for the cafe

But yes, I am going out of business totally.  I have been selling on line since Jan 1998, so almost 9 years.  For the past year or so, I have found my business to be more of a burden rather than an enjoyment.  Life is too short to work at something you don't enjoy, so it is time for me to move on  :)

Hi Blair,
I remember seeing another vase in amber and gold flecks with hanging rings like yours, but it was Salviati (the sellers attribution), and much more ornate. It had a lot of scroll decoration on the handles.

Yours does look like an older piece, but I am thinking it shouldnt be so clean and sleek. Also the large snails applied to it seem a little weird to me. Worth a look at Laura's suggestion.
