Title: Blue Rose Trellis Paperweight by Mike Hunter
Post by: daveweight on October 25, 2006, 03:25:17 PM
Thought I would share my latest purchase - this is a new weight by Mike Hunter of Twists Glass called Blue Rose Trellis, He has made a murrini style rose cane and overlaid this on a twist design, it is a liomited editon of only 12 weights and this is number 9.

Quite beautiful and superbly complex. I'm going to have to add a Mike Hunter to my collection.

Wow!  Mike is really branching out, isn't he?

Do you happen to know if he makes the roses in the same way he makes the clown faces - really large, and then pulled and pulled and pulled and .....

Hi all

Mike Hunter really is producing some superb weights.

I visited his studio a couple of months ago and commissioned a weight from Mike to incorporate the three elements of his work that I admire - his superb butterflies - his clown faces and his perfect torsades.

Well it arrived this morning and to say I am highly delighted with it is a definite understatement - pic at http://i13.tinypic.com/2cdfrch.jpg

Enjoy

Derek
