Title: Piedouche paperweight question
Post by: alexander on October 29, 2006, 11:26:55 PM
Hi, can someone help me with this one - i've seen something quite like it but can't find it again, i failed to get a picture of the base, underneath on the base there's cut/ground a many pointed star shape which spreads out.
I'm sure i've seen a similar base somewhere but the location escapes me and severeal googles haven't helped yet.

Apoligies for the poor picture.

The facets are very nicely done, same with the controlled bubbles.
The flower sits on a blue base.
Nice clean glass, no green og yellow tint.

It was suggested to me by the seller that it was french made but i'm not sure, no signature cane as far as i could tell.

Thanks

Alexander

My guess is modern Czech.

I was hoping you wouldn't say that

The flower and bubbles do remind me of modern czech, but the shape and the carved star underneath made me uncertain.

I was hoping for french, the seller's holding it for me.
I'll hold off on contacting him until i know for sure tho, if it is a french weight i can pay his asking price but not if it's a czech piece.

Thanks
