Title: Starthearn glass - help wanted
Post by: mjr on November 09, 2006, 07:58:28 AM
I have just bought a mixed lot at auction, primarily for a nice late Strathearn paperweight. However the main items were Strathearn bowl and vase.  As this is an area i am not that familiar with, a few questions.
What would i expect for them on ebay?
As they seem to be a match is it better to split them or sell together?
Any of the experts know the design numbers?
As they are described as Strathearn I guess they must have a label or the fish.
The bowl is 24cm (10") diameter so the vase would seem to be about 8" high

Bowl is B029 and vase V002, there is no distinction in the catalogue between Vasart and Strathearn, though it indicates which of the 3 periods the design has been found. There are no original catalogues for Vasart and these are being built by collectors. http://www.ysartglass.com/Indexcat03.htm

Both are fairly common and do not fetch huge amounts so if selling, it is probably best to exploit their matching and usefulness. Bucket vase is great for flowers and the bowl good for fruit.
