Title: Need help with two pieces

The first is predominantly yellow, almost conical with a rounded base, has a band of summerso opaque white, then over that a row of six applied blobs of yellow, with a blob of white on top to form bullseye patterns. The other two descriptions that come to mind are unmentionable. Base is nicely polished. Fantastic swinging sixties design, but who made it?

The second I wonder whether might be modern chinese, but want to confirm. It's a heavy lump of glass with a smooth polished base, blue and green sides and striped canes to form a spiral pattern.  Spiral is rough, not perfect, so I don't think it's Murano. Does it ring a bell with anyone?

Hello Cathy
I often seem to miss posts here in the Murano section.
I don't think either of these are Murano.
The first in interesting - there have been Murano pieces with a "Fried Egg" motif but executed quite differently and of course this is more like a reverse fried egg.
The form of the second is superficially similar to that pioneered by the Scandinavians but as you rightly point out the execution is lacking. The multi-colors also suggest a showy appeal not really in keeping with the Scandis.
Both seem quite contemporary and could be made in any one of a dozen countries these days. I haven't seen anything similar here in UK.

Thanks. I try to keep an eye on contemporary glass available here in Australia (through the homewares stores - top grade to KMart) and haven't seen anything like the first - but that doesn't prove anything, of course. I bought it three or four years ago.

I wonder whether anyone can recall seeing it anywhere at all.

I agree with Peter. This peces look new, at least I know for sure the Vase with swirls is. Take a look at Ebay and search Murano, there are tons of them on sale. They come up at auction every few days:
