Hi, I hope it's ok to post this here as well as an update on my paperweight post.
Embryo (http://images.aucland.com/ImgUsers/4/411/41176/4117639/411763946_Big.jpg)
I was lucky enough to find this piece at a Norwegian online auction site,
I thought it was quite different and would make a spicy addition to my
paperweight collection.
A clear glass embryo covered in gold and encased.
While looking through the Jargstorf paperweight book I found and almost
identical piece - made by Ermanno Nason in 1989!
The only difference is the orientation of the main element, the book one
was on it's side while mine is upright. Very nice artwork.
Not signed tho but unmistakeably Ermanno Nason judging by the book.
A lucky one indeed. :D
Thought I'd post the pic as it's an unusal piece and there aren't that many
Ermanno pieces pictured online that I could find.
Edit : Changed link to photo due to server probs, photo works now.

Hi Alexander,
Interesting piece!
I dont have any Nason pieces, but I know there have been a few topics about him on here. I dont think any of the photos are active + they were different sculptures than yours. There was a similar "embryo" sculpture at auction recently by Livio Seguso from Rago Modern Arts. It was really big though, not a paperweight. Interesting subject matter.
Great piece for yor collection!

I'd love to see this, but the image just won't show
Alexander, did you know that Ermanno Nason formed a collaboration with Lino Perone late 1970s to 1980s and several pieces are about with 'L. Nason' labels.
It was discussed from page 2 to page 4 of this topic. You need to read chuggy's conclusion on page 4 (last but one post).

I've posted an L.Nason bird on Frank's fledgling Glass Zoo (http://www.debook.com/animal/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=14&Itemid=28) web site:

Hi, fixed now - at least for now, I am having difficulties with my server.
Thanks for the pointer, will check out the discussion later on.
I know that Ermanno also worked alongside Livio Seguso, not sure for how long or what they did together yet tho.
Thanks

I have just started to research a glass Embyo that I purchased in a venice store in 1984. It looks almost identical to the photo's posted by Alexander. It is a large paperweight size. Gold dusted embryo in clear glass and has E Nason engraved in the glass base. Does anyone have an idea of values? I payed around $400 Australian Dollars for it at the time.
Thanks
Simon
