Title: Amphora-like Murano vase

Hi, I found this one a while ago but haven't been able to id it,
I thinking definately Murano but age and maker escapes me.

It's not completely smooth on the outside so it hasn't been given a clear
layer of glass atop the different colors, it appears the colored glass was
applied to a clear layer.

The pontil is unposlished and indented.

It stands about 12 cm tall.

Ane help muchly appreciated.

Hi Alexander - Lovely fresh colours in your vase, very Spring-like.   :D

I see you haven't had an answer on this one yet, and although I'm always putting my foot in it on the Murano board, I have to say this one looks like it might be modern production and maybe Chinese.

Hopefully Svazzo or Laura will be able to say for certain.

Hi Alexander,
Its hard to say, at least for me. I havent seen that shape, but the way the handles are formed looks promising. Maybe early Fratelli Toso? That is just a gut feeling guess. I really havent seen too many Modern Production or Chinese pieces to make an acurate guess on its age.
The 1 store around me that carries reproduction Poli and Seguso pieces only has the larger chunkier pieces for sale, nt as delicate as yours, so theres not much for me to compare it to.

Thanks, struggeling abit with this one so any pointer much appreciated.
And gut feelings have a way of turning out to be on the spot  :)

I bought it online here in Norway, I probably wouldn't have if the handles
hadn't been so thin and shaped like that. I've seen similar handles on
early murano vessels.

The colors aren't as bright as the picture might indicate, the yellow and
green have a pastel quality, another reason to think it may be early
murano, altho that could also mean chinese I guess.

It's a very delicate thing, and with the unpolished pontil I'm leaning more
towards murano than china .

Will keep you posted if I find out more.
