Hi. Happy to see the Board up & running again. I picked this up, but am not certain about the attribution. From the style I thought it might be Sowerby, but am looking for more expertise than I have regarding non-USA glass. Bowl is 11 1/2" diameter, 4" height & figure is 7 1/2" in height. Figure fits into a ring depression. Strangely enough it looks as if there was actually a light fixture that fit uo into the dome at some point in time because there are glass prongs inside the dome. Thanks, Ken

I'm fairly certain she's not Sowerby. Can we see the detail on the edge of the bowl please. I wonder if she actually is American

HI, dont know if this will help, but threr was/is an american company called GILLANDER AND SONS who produced similar items, i have only ever seen them on the net , there is a history of the company on the wheaton arts site, and i wish i owned some. p.s two spellings of the name also GILLINDER

Christine I'll post a new picture as soon as my daughter returns my digital camera which hopefully will be tomorrow. Thanks, Ken

Black-Poppy describes this as Mueller and co. It has a different base and bowl though.

I agree with Christine - not Sowerby for the figure. I also have checked the Inwald catalogues and the figure is not theirs either.
I can't comment on Mueller as I have not studied the factory at all.
Following on from TC's observation, do you think the bowl/pedestal and figure are all by the same maker, Ken?

JMHO - Based on the detailing of the mould on the figurine, especially in the breast area  I would say that it is not American. Americans tend to be much more prudish than Europeans, especially 70-80 years ago. None of the US made nude figurines have any high detail of anatomical parts

Glen...yes most definately the bowl & figurine are by the same manufacturer & not a marriage. What I should have done (not thinking) was show the circular sunken ring 3/8" in depth & the figurine's circular base also 3/8" in height...the fit is 100% perfect. Ken

Tigerchips: Thanks...the Mueller figurine is a 100% perfect match to mine & the base is the same as the blue figurine shown. Much appreciated. Ken

Decided it might be best to post the pieces so if anyone else runs across this they will know its Mueller. Piece's base is 5/8" in height & bowl socket is 5/8" in depth. The bowl weighs 7 1/2 lbs. Ken

Hi g-m-a
Another thread to ponder on your wonderful flower set, I had a set very similar in satin pink, the figerine the same but the bowl did not have any decoratoin around the edge. The dome in the centre had a light fitted under the base also the top had a round frog grid over all the surface.
The bowl had Reg: No. 749772 Date: 4-11-1929.

I hope this is helpful or not, lets hope we get there in the end.

Roger I was fortunate enough to have Sue (Blackpoppy) email me with documentation of this being Mueller & they made several versions & even one using a different figurine (they used more than one) so they odds would seem to favor yours being Mueller. Ken
