Anyone seen this one before? See here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CHANCE-GLASS-FLORAL-PLATE-STILL-IN-ORGINAL-BOX_W0QQitemZ190056780973QQihZ009QQcategoryZ1010QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Thought it might be Blossom 1975 - but on looking, it's totally different....?
Lovely striking design. Blossom of some sort though.

Yes, Christine, it's Yasmin, and comes in three different background colours: red, white, and yellow. I have a red background one in a smaller size. They are not as common as some of the other patterns.
-
Ah, that explains why I didn't recognise it. It's in red on David's site
-
Found a white Yasmin cakestand (10" diameter) today... :hiclp:
-
Anne. Nice to see you found a white Yasmin. Funny enough David only rank it same as red Yasmin even it is harder to find.
I found a white Yasmin a few weeks back a 8 inch fluted plate. But if you look closely at the top right hand corner a small flower bud is missing when compare with your 10" plate. May be the pattern was modified to fit a smaller plate.

Undoubtedly, they were paper transfers and were cut to fit. Yours has other bits missing too.
-
I did not notice any other things missing.
-
The orange leaf on the bottom right. You can see where the twig it's supposed to go on the end of just disappears behind a flower and then doesn't come out. The ceramics trade has always trimmed hand-applied transfers to fit. It was a very skilful job making the joins so no one could tell.
-
Ming yes, as Christine says, the transfers were cut to fit smaller sizes. Michelle has a 17cm (c. 6½") diameter white Yasmin too and hers has been trimmed even more... I'll ask her to add a pic here for comparison.
-
Yes! I can see it now. Thanks.
-
sorry for the delay, i completely forgot to add piccy here it is.
re-measured and its 17.75cms (7") in diameter

I mailed Michelle about this recently. The white is scarce, but I see proportionally less in lemon (to the extent I haven't even got an example). Now, I'm not sure if Tony C (see index for references) got his colours wrong, as he seemed pretty sure that anything in white was a test piece - supported by the fact that only flame and lemon appear in promotional literature. But I keep seeing white Yasmin...

David
May be we should ask " Does anybody out there has a Lemon Yasmin??"
-
Nope, only white and red here. Never seen a yellow one anywhere other than in David's book.
