Have had this big bowl for a few months now, and I think it's a 9660 in Willow, except it's an inch longer than the catalogue size, and a slightly different shape. Now because it's handmade and quite a fluid shape I'm assuming these are maybe still within the boundaries of handmade variation - but I thought I should get confirmation first as my WF knowledge is still very patchy and I didn't want to chalk it up as something it isn't.

Looks good to me Nic. Have never seen one of these before, nice one! In my experience, bowls seem to have more "flexibility" in size vis a viz the catalogued indications. Emmi

I'd never seen one of these bowls before either - which is why it took me a few months to arrive at the idea that it might be WF. I don't think it's because it's rare (unfortunately), but rather that they're not overtly WF in style and so get frequently overlooked by sellers (and probably collectors). I myself bought it first assuming it was Scandinavian.

Glassblowers are very good at judging the size and one inch is a larger variation than I would expect for handblown. So I would advise caution on the attribution from that aspect.

I don't know - I'm a master at finding Whitefriars pieces in wonky shapes. This is my third not-quite-right lump of glass and the other two have turned out to be definitely WF.
However, I'll give it a run on WF.com - see if anyone has anything similar. I'm confident that it is WF, though, as the colour and overall finish is fairly spot-on.

....Whitefriars your dish......despite there being prescriptive sizes Whitefriars hand blown items can vary as much as an inch. When the bottom of a pot had been got to, for example, swans would be made much smaller than the catalogued size. Others have been known to be made above and beyond normal heights. Have 3 bubble barrel vases here (hand blown) one of which is much smaller than the other two.

As a collector of Whitefriars, sizes of bowls in particular can vary hugely, proof of this is on my shelves. Vases too have some descrepancies although not quite so much as bowls. Emmi
