I couldn't resist buying this 1960s or 1970s ash tray today. Very innovative design. The arms function as legs and cigar rests. I've never seen anything quite like it. Anyone know who designed and manufactured it? I'm sort of fantasizing that it's a Joe Columbo or some other high concept designer(!) Any help would be appreciated.
Charles.

Wow Anne E.B., that was quick and I think a perfect match <applause>
I was just tempted to talk about the Wagenfeld'ish colour, but then thought: look first and reply later ;D

My knee-jerk reaction was German circa-1950s too, but I decided to wait and see. Thankfully. ;D

I don't smoke anymore, but wow! If I did, I'd be hotfooting to Bigashtray.com! They have some really lovely ones don't they!

Thanks for the quick reply and for directing me to Viking. Impressive web page indeed! It's interesting to see that they were doing such high design in the hills of West Virginia.
