Hiya, here's a blue bobbly glass vase with a white inner - now usually I'd think this was Scandi but it could be Empoli - couldn't it? ??? And would I be correct to describe this type of repeating bobbly pattern as 'hobnail'? Cheers ...

I don't know who made it Pip but a friend who runs a regular boot sale stall had the same vase in orange on his table for months during the summer. I picked it up a number of times over the months but thought it just lacked substance. I thought at the time it was perhaps some eastern European or Asian piece trying hard to look Scandinavian. Not very encouraging I know, Sorry.

Pip - great looking vase. I think something similar (nailhead/hobnail) was made in Italy - "Ucagco." Also worth checking out Faglavik Glasbruk, Sweden who also did something similar too.

Hi Bryn - thanks for your input - I'd have LOVED it in orange (the gaudier the better as far as I'm concerned!). Cheers Anne - I'll investigate your suggestions further - if I find anything out I'll post it here :)

Hi Pip,
Of course, you do love the retro look. I will probably see my boot selling friend on Sunday and if I do I'll ask him if he still has it. If he does, I could then borrow it and show it here. However I think he sends all his unsold items to auction at the end of the season. But you never know.
Cheers,
Bryn

Cheers Bryn ;D I'd love to see it ...

Sorry Pip, I spoke to my booting friend today and he says he did take the afore mentioned orange vase to auction in November. So no photo I'm afraid.
