The first one is a large vase 12 inch high by 8.5 inch diameter at the top, claimed to be at least 50 years old, IMHO it is Bohemian, can anyone help.
The next two photos are of a Webb crystal vase in purple, not seen this colour by Webb, only for the mark on the base, C1950s I would have said this was WF, can anyone help, who designed this piece? it is very much like Powell.

Hi Tony,
According to Leslie Jackson, Webb designed an optic wave-ribbed pattern before WF, and that WF probably plagiarised the design! That pattern, however, isn't the pattern on your vase. The earlier pattern, Webb's 'Cascade', and the WF wave-ribbed design are both different from yours in that they comprises swags (like draped material caught at the top at regular points), whereas the design on your vase is of even waves. I've heard a little about the pattern on your vase, but it's all hearsay so you'll have to wait for someone who knows more!

Hi Cathy
Many thanks for your help, I must see if I can find that book by Leslie Jackson ( along with the 10,000 others I would like!!!! )

Webb's wave, this one, is shown in British Glass Between the Wars.

I don't know who designed yours but the mark was active until 1966.
I have somthing with an earlier mark, maybe the Optic.

Thank you for your reply, nice vase which is very much like mine, I see your vase has a applied base, as I am sure mine has, my feeling is this design is from the 1930s and was maybe still in production in the 50s 60s can anyone else add any more?
