Hi,
p242 of Jackson's "20th Century Factory Glass", carries the following statement:
"Marks: Unmarked, apart from the Dema logo on packaging".
Correct or incorrect?

I have heard of Dema labels before. Could it be Lesley Jackson is referring to mould marks?

Jackson clearly refers to the boxes. But surely as they spanned such a long period of time they would have gone through various means of labelling or not.

Just realised that I had not made the comment earlier "Incorrect".

I knew Dema well, especially the lovely Ken Stoitt for ran it before the Coloroll debacle. Dema had a 3D symbol embossed in pub glassware moulds to differentiate them from Arc and Ravenhead for about a year before they closed. Do not think they had individual labels (machine made high volume pubware does not, it is made too fast and no point!)  All cartons were printed Dema.

I agree that the mass-production items like tumblers and tankards wouldn't carry stickers, but probably the lower production glass like the bowl in Marcus' original thread?

Otherwise, I can't think who the Dema Crystal is that's being referred to.

Not crystal by any means, but I have a pair of Dema 1/2 pint tankards which have the embossed 3d DEMA Made in England mark which Stephen referred to. The mark is two D's face to face with one above them, the curve between the two lower ones looks like a wineglass stem with the top D laid sideways across the top to form the bowl of the wineglass. (I'll add it to the Labels and Marks album soon.)
