Title: sea 6011

I invested  £1 on a vase... photos shortly if needed.. but it has the code of sea 6011 (Possibly 8011) around the bottom...

I'm guessing its from Sea Glasbruk ? maybe.... is there anywhere I can check what that code means?

I have a copy of Scandinavian Glass Fire & Sea by Leslie Pina and at the rear of that book there are examples of Scandinavian backstamps and signatures. There is one shown for Sea Glasbruk which shows the hand etched Sea followed by 4 etched but unclear numbers (7135?) , in a pattern probably similar to those shown on your vase. Of course Sea was taken over by Orrefors Glass Works in 1986. Orrefors have always used a quite complex date numbering system for their glass pieces and it could be that they are continuing with that tradition with some of their Sea Glasbruk items.
Examples of the Orrefors serial numbering system can be seen on the www.great-glass.co.uk web site under the Glass notes category.
May be relevent, may not.

Heres two photos, one of the vase along with a green Finnish one and a grey one of unknown origin. The one I think is a Sea Gasbruk one is the blue one in the middle.  The second picture is the best I can manage of the engraved number...

Hi Steve,
Yes, I think your mark is typical of the gene, two upper case and one lower. It suggests an early piece, I believe the design was later taken over by the Swedish factory Aseda.  I recognise the piece on the left as being by Aimo Okkolin but the other one is new to me too . Nice!
