I know its always tricky with unsigned crystal, which these are, bought yesterday
from a charity shop for £8!! Got them home , washed them and realised ive done pretty well.
9 of them, all perfect!
Top quality, multi faceted ,hollow tear stems, all hand worked, 7 1/8" gold rim, then another
thinner gold line, and gold around base.
I just thought someone may recognise them, or have some suggestions, first i thought 1950s,
but now im thinking they may be Victorian as there is some age wear to the bases,
and Im thinking French(baccarat, st louis) or Stourbridge , the stems are stunning!
Anyone got any ideas?

Thought id bump this up, i know its tricky with unsigned drinking glasses, but any
suggestions ??? I think if they were mid to late 20thC they would be signed, they are
so nice, id love to pin them down, with these stems, anyone agree they are probably
late 19th Century ???

Hi Andy - These pictures aren't as clear as yours usually are. If you could post a picture of just one glass - maybe taken in natural light (windowsill?), and perhaps a shot of the base, it might help. I remember having something similar 9 years ago and I'm trawling the old brain cells to remember what they were. Cat

I've remembered the ones I had were Bohemia Crystal http://www.replacements.com/webquote/BOCGEN.htm
I'm not saying yours are too, but it might give you another line of enquiry. Sorry to say the pictures are still not helping!

Thanks , nice and they are similar, but i think mine are better ;D
especially in real life ;) tricky ones to get a good photo of.

I might be able to be more help if your pics were better ;D. Black background often helps with crystal. Something else you might like to try.........

Taken with no light on in the room, using the backlight option on the flash setting (not recommended for fragile glass as you might hit it with the camera!)

Bumped up with larger photos,
I actually sold these at auction about 2 months ago, auctioneers agreed they are late 19thC
and i put a reserve of £70 on them which they achieved, anyway, the buyer never paid for them,
so they are back in the auction again this week, ive been paid so proceeds go to auction room
this time, knowing my luck they will sell for 3 times the amount :'(
However they look so nice, if i could put a name to them , i might buy them back!!!
Anyone have any ideas :huh: recently saw postings with Theresienthal? looked similar,
maybe Moser? maybe Stourbridge?
Do larger photos help anyone??

Well,
as i saw "your" goblets my first thought was that this could be Theresienthal. But unfortunately the pictures are not as good as i would need them to tell you more. But Theresienthal made clear coulourless goblets with a golden ring at the top in many shapes. One shape is very similiar to that i can identify on your pictures.

thanks for your quick reply, it was on your web page that made me think of Theresienthal,
they are some of the nicest glasses i have owned, but had to sell because of space, and when
i saw them again , they looked wonderful , if anyone
wants them, i should add they are selling tomorrow ( wednesday 8th Jan) at Bourne end auction rooms,

I think you are very lucky man. If your glasses is for sale in my auction house l think it will not sell for more than £40. I have been collecting drinking glasses for sometimes now. These type of glasses is not old enough for collector like myself and the only buyers are buying for personal use. Personally, l have my doubt about the age l would put them in 1940/50/60.
Sorry for being too harsh. But that is the reality.
On the lighter note. Today l went to the Glass Museum at Stourbridge while my better half spend my hard earned cash in Merryhill. It was a very enjoyable two hours and it was free. There are books and quite a few types of studio glasses for sale. Highly recommended if you are over here in future.
