Title: Cordonato d'oro?

I've seen a number of pieces described as being cordonato d'oro. The designs vary. I've seen a 'netting' pattern done in gold aventurine labeled thus as well as things that looked like encased rope burnished with gold aventurine or tight spirals of gold.

Are these all cordonato d'oro or does it describe a certain pattern done in Gold aventurine?

I've always thought that cordonato d'oro was particular to Barovier, you can see their design on this page:

I'll be interested to see what Javier says, maybe I'm wrong.  :P

Hi,
Yes, the Cordonato D' Oro is a Barovier design.
It is supposed to look like "rope", not sure what design you were looking at when you mentioned "netting".
Barovier also did a Graffito technique and a Zebratti technique. Maybe you were refering to 1 of those.
I'll post a picture of the 3 later today.
