Title: Tall, heavy, white rimmed vase, Czech, Murano?
Post by: Tigerchips on February 19, 2007, 10:17:26 PM
This doesn't belong to me but I am curious as to where all these weird looking (and very nice) vases are coming from? They seem to pop up once in a while, this is the tallest one I've seen yet. I didn't measure it but it was about 16-17 inches tall. ;D

The base is flat, and the rim has a streak of white glass running around it (inside the clear glass).

Hmmmm?

Thanks, Tony.  ;D

I did start a thread about these aaaages ago, but it's long since gone, and I can't recall any of the suggested origins.

So not too much help then.  ;D

But it's possibly the same maker as my purple bowl, recently resurrected in an old thread. - the quality and overall finish is much the same.

I thought it might be the same too.  ;D

I can't find the thread either.  :(

I'm wondering if these are fairly recently made. Considering the weight of the glass, there's hardly any wear to the base.  :-\

I've seen quite a few of these up here at various auctions, antique markets etc, they come in all different sizes and configurations.

By up here i mean Norway but i'm fairly certain they're not norwegian, maybe swedish, finnish or eastern europe?
