I have just picked up a little 9683 Nailhead in Lilac, working from Emmi's colour lists, I make it that this was only available in 1974?
Does that make it harder to find? It is is a lovely delicate colour, I haven't seen any before.
I can't find any on ebay (I can go back 2 months and nothing in that colour), so don't know if it is likely to make more or about the same as the more usual tangerine and pewter?
thanks!

Well done Lynne - if it IS lilac you did good - very rare and highly sought after. What size is your nailhead as well because if it's one of the larger ones it's a double whammy!

Hi Lynne,
Take a look at http://www.whitefriarsorg.org/memb1/a6-auctions/a6-06-04/page0007.html
It shows one which sold for £100 on a BIN which is a good bit more than some of the other colours!
Well done, John. :)

Thanks both - it's in a box of a LOT of glass I bought on Wednesday... I'll hoik it out and get a picture so we can double check the colour. Size is definitely the little one.

I was very pleased with the pics - I used DenCill's tip of using a piece of black card to one side to create some internal reflections. Worked well I think.
Shame though, as I was cleaning the vase for photos I found some little nibbles to the inner edge of the rim, I thought I had checked it carefully, but obviously not... shame....there goes the pricing :'( :'(

Those pesky magically-appearing chips and cracks have been at it again, then. Always happens to me. >:(

Maybe a little information there, no conclusions though. :)

Thanks Max, they might be burst bubbles, I'll have a look closely through the glass in the daylight tomorrow. Though I think these are just wear and tear nicks - wearing rings whilst washing up probably causes quite a few little nicks too.

I know nothing about your vase but I wanted to tell you that I think your photos came out fabulous ;D

It's beautiful Lynne, with the more subtle colour. Lovely pictures too!
I should think the scarcity will go some way towards the loss due to damage, if that's what it is. We had to throw away an otherwise beautiful piece of crystal from a mixed lot yesterday, because someone had washed it up while wearing a diamond ring >:(
Good Luck! John.

Thanks Connie - Dencill gave a tip in the photo tips (see the thread at the top of this forum about putting your pictures up, there is a link to his page there) about putting a black card or paper to one side out of shot when you are taking pics against a light background. I've started to do that, and whilst it doesn't always work, I think with this one it has come out wonderfully.
I am very chuffed with the results.

Very interesting proposition that these might be burst bubbles or damage caused on grinding. There is also one tiny round nick on the outside of each of three of the corners, and there are certainly some loose bubbles in the sides of the glass, so it is possible.
I guess I would still class it as damage though.
