I picked this up in Lincolnshire somewhere. There seem to be some kind of pattern going on around the vase, so the pattern is not just here and there.
It's five and half inches high.

The rim is a bit wonkey.

There could be a polished pontil in there somewhere but it's been covered in glass.

The inside is raised in places so I presume this blue decoration has been applied and then flattened.
Any ideas on who made it please?
Thanks, Tony

Don't be afraid, I can take the bad news?

Tony, I thought how interesting it was, and was waiting for some information too! :)
-
Thanks Max. :)
It looks like a bit of work has gone into it, but I'm not sure about the wobbly rim though. Could it be a factory second perhaps?
-
I'd just like to know what technique that is, I thought it was pottery at first. ???
-
Me too, until I looked at the base. It's nearly opaque, a very faint purple colour can be seen on the inside when it's held up to the light.
I presume the vase was rolled over the tiny bits of yellow glass. Perhaps the vase was mould blown after the decoration had been applied, therefore leaving the vase looking smooth and flat on the outside?

There was another thread with the same glass in the last several months which positively identified this as having been made in Spain, complete with the name of the factory and their web site; the year that I recall being mentioned is 1980. If you do a thorough search of glassmessages past threads, you should find it. Good luck.

Paul, thank you, I had a niggle there was something... I even posted in that other topic! :-[
