Possibly Czech? Pair of Frosted/Crystal Vases with Bird motif.
« on: November 15, 2009, 07:25:10 PM »
Hi all, hope everyones well. Sorry I don't know how to post this to the Czech subforum if that is possible (maybe the subforum just searches for posts with Keywords?) anyhow I have this pair of Vases that I think may be Czech. Each one has a flying bird motif, possible a swallow? They measure 5" tall and 5" in diameter. Each one has 4 birds repeated around the vase.

They are frosted on the outside all except the neck of the vase.

Cat.

P.S. these images are in a special folder in my photobucket so they won't get deleted and will remain here for future reference.

Czech forum is one of the resolved forums where we move topics once item has been identified. As this is an ID request it is properly posted into Glass. :)

These must be making the rounds again. Back in the late 70's these were around with a R. LALIQUE FRANCE fake molded mark on the bottom. At that time they were thought to be Czech. Go down 12 rows on the URL below & its in green. Ken

Thanks for the link Ken.

I could see how an untrained eye might contemplate these being lalique simply because they're frosted crystal and birds (MUST mean they're lalique right?) specially if they had a fake siggie on them.

I see that site has a couple of these shown in Green and also a taller version in the Green coloring too. Still no clues as to maker but as least you have given me a rough date that they existed in.
